Villa Matarazzo is surrounded by a wide park of 30.000 m2 that was designed by the landscape architect Augusto Cicchetti in the Fourties, with following interventions by Pietro Porcinai, well known to have launched again the magnificence of Italian style gardens, and by the famous English landscapist Russel Page.
Completely abandoned for more than 30 years (1960 – 1995), the park has recently been refurbished (1998) by the late landscapist Otello Conti from Senigallia in cooperation with Mrs. Rosanna Di Gregorio Ranocchi.

The whole hill of Fanano is rich of oaks, holms, pinasters, olive-trees and Mediterranean botanic rarities that create a charming and evergreen scenery. A botanic path is proposed to those who love nature to discover different kinds of flora, some of which are becoming extinct and date from the first half of the XVIII century. |
