Excursion in the surroundings
At the border between Romagna and Marche, Villa Matarazzo is the ideal starting point for excursions towards ancient villages and medieval citadels such as Urbino, S. Leo, S. Marino, Montefiore, Verucchio, or towards the towns on the coast such as Pesaro, Rimini and Ravenna. It is worth visiting also Gradara Castle, whose shape is the background of the villa gardens.
Concerning naturalistic excursions the recent establishment of S. Bartolo Park, that includes the panoramic area between Pesaro and Gabicce, offers an interesting landscape comprehensive of some beaches that are reachable only on foot, of the countryside that highlights the colors of Mediterranean vegetation and of ancient villages that rise on hills falling sheer to the sea.
Gabicce and Cattolica beaches, along the Riviera Romagnola and just at 3 km from the villa, represent another of the tourist attractions that enrich the charm of Pesaro and Rimini districts. |
